A Strong Record.
Senator Chafin’s burning enthusiasm for Southern West Virginia is unparalleled, and his record for being the longest-serving Senate Majority Leader proves this. First elected to the West Virginia Senate in 1982, H. Truman Chafin is a strong advocate for Mingo, McDowell, Mercer, Wayne, and Wyoming Counties.
Thanks to Senator Chafin’s strong commitment to the people of Southern West Virginia, he successfully obtained $11,843,907.90 real dollars in the last eight years for the counties of McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Wayne, and Wyoming.
Additionally, $148 million was spent on water and sewer projects for Southern West Virginia through Senator Chafin.
This funding has provided the necessary infrastructure that Southern West Virginia needed to move forward including paved roads, jobs, improved schools, and tourism.
On the national level, West Virginia benefits from the funds that our senior-level Congressional Delegation brings home to West Virginia. On the state level, our area gets extra millions of dollars in projects by having senior-level State Senator Truman Chafin. By re-electing Truman Chafin to the Senate, our communities win!
